RAMSAY, James 1932-2021 Born in Airdrie, Scotland, Jim left school at 16 to become a bank clerk with the Royal Bank of Scotland. After completing his National Service (1950-52) he immigrated to Canada to join the Royal Bank of Canada where he worked (although that was debated by some) until retirement in 1988. His love of family, animals and fine scotch was matched by his passion for music, most notably the piano, leading to his being known as the Piano Man by many on the Saanich Peninsula through his volunteer activities with multiple organizations. Predeceased by his brother Allan, son Jim (2002), and wife Elaine (2012), he is survived by his daughter Linda Michaluk (Neil), granddaughters Natalie and Vanessa, great grandchildren Faunus, Llyr and Calla, cousin Shona Fallon, nieces and nephews, and great friends. Thanks to Cathy (Helping Hands), Dr. Cory Cowan and the staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations, if wished, to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation, or the SPCA. No service by request. The song is over but the melody lingers on.
Remembering Jim for the many lovely times we enjoyed w family during his sing-alongs at San Pen – his smile and musical talents brightened the days of many. Wishing his loved ones peace and joyful memories
