Ronaye K. Manering, maiden name Marion Katherine Gaffney, grew up in Vancouver, and spent most of her free time figure skating. She was passionate about the sport she loved. She was a long time member of the Kerrisdale Figure Skating Club and was successful there, winning an international gold medal in 1959. A year later she was performing with Holiday On Ice and traveling around North America with the show. After returning home she began her career coaching and guiding the future figure skaters of Canada. She was a caring, loving person who always put other needs ahead of her own. She will be missed but also celebrated for a life well lived.
