Over his lifetime, Randy passionately honed his many skills and talents which included being a stockbroker, carpenter, cartographer, public service employee, actor and singer. Randy lived his life to the fullest, was an avid sailor (racing and cruising) and travelled extensively. He also enjoyed hiking, camping, bike riding, scuba diving, playing guitar, cooking and gardening. Randy was a kind, generous and loving person, his smile and laughter were infectious and his hugs always brought a sense of comfort and security.
As per Randy’s wishes, he was cremated and a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. A park bench dedicated to Randy’s memory will be installed in Lillian Hoffar Park in North Saanich overlooking Tsehum Harbour.

The song is ended but the melody lingers on…
I had the honor of sharing the stage with Randy in “Shot in the Dark” in 2009. He was, and still is, one of my favorite people I’ve acted with. He was so warm, confident, funny and kind. I am so sorry to hear this news, my condolences to Randy’s family.
I was lucky enough to play Randy’s daughter in a play many years ago. He was full of warmth and kindness and had a great sense of humour. I so enjoyed working with him and getting to know him just a little bit. So sad to hear of his passing. It sounds like he was surrounded by love. All the best to his family in their time of grief.
How incredibly sad,I’ve known Randy since I was 12 years old, when my dad would drive us up to Athabasca for the summer.
He was a few years older than me and I worshiped him ,he would always catch all the fish and new the woods and water.
I would see him once every few years when he would come to SoCal or the Preece Parker reunions always had a quick wit and so funny.
Later I would see him in Hawaii a couple times with his boys ,love showing him the island, and everytime we were together I was always back at Baptise lake , I will miss him dearly.
To all the Parkers, my heart goes out to you all. Randy was always one of my favorite people. He did have such warmth and humor about him. My mind goes back to all those wonderful Parker/Preece reunions. They won’t have been as fun or successful without Randy.
