Bell, Andrewena (Dreana)
nee Anderson
April 1, 1941–October 5, 2022.
Dreana passed away peacefully at VGH on Oct 5th 2022 after a courageous 4-year battle against multiple health issues. Dreana was predeceased by her first husband, Lee Hay, and by her parents, Andrew and Sarah Jane Anderson.
Left to mourn are her husband, Rod, daughter, Sarah Lee, son, Bill Lee (Kathy), grandchildren Tyler, Bryden and Kiana; step-children Janet (Kim), Tracey (Glenn), and Stuart (Jody), six step-grandchildren, Amy, Jason, Christina, Brittany, Brent and Anthony; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Connor, Aidan, Jackson, Alice, Carter, Sophia and Lily. Close relatives in the UK were Daisy (Rick), Patty (Paul), Tina (Mark), Danny, Nicky; May (Sammy) and Sonny; Jacqueline, Terence (Margaret), and Gordon; chosen daughter, Brenda Lee; and very special friends Cindy, Polly, Melanie, Lynn, Isabel, Joyce, Brian and Rose, and many other friends too numerous to mention.
Dreana was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nothing in life was more important to Dreana than her family and she was unceasingly devoted to each and every member of her beloved family.
Facing numerous health challenges through the years, Dreana always showed her characteristic courage and her unconquerable spirit, which gained her the pseudonym “Wonder Woman” among family and friends. Despite declining health, Dreana never once complained; there was always “somebody worse off than me” who deserved attention more than she did.
Dreana had a unique personality; she was a woman who marched to the beat of her own drum, who faced every challenge head-on, who never complained, and who had only praise for the doctors, nurses and medical technicians who helped her along the way.
Dreana was a hairdresser by profession and for many years ran her own business, “Dreana’s Beauty Salon” on Cedar Hill Road, and later from her own home. Thanks to Dreana’s engaging personality, the salon was as much a social club as it was a business, and became so popular that many of her clients became good friends and remained as clients for over 30 years.
