Elizabeth L. Holovsky
March 5, 1948 – November 18, 2024
Liz, great friend and wife, died in Saanich Peninsula Hospital on November 18, 2024.
Elizabeth Letitia Tyrwhitt-Drake was born in Vancouver, BC to Nancy and Monty Tyrwhitt-Drake, an old Victoria, BC, family.
Liz, after graduation from Norfolk House School, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Toronto. While in Toronto, Liz met her future husband Ladi, a student of architecture at U of T. They married in March 1970, and two years later moved to Vancouver, BC. In 1974 they built their sailboat named Tin Lizzie, moved aboard and in 1975 moved to Victoria, BC where they lived aboard for two years. During that time they bought land and built their first house on Pender Island. Pender Island become their permanent home base.
Liz was a great animal lover and avid book reader. All her years on Pender were filled with many friendships and community involvements.
Liz requested no service. Many thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Palliative Care Unit, Saanich Peninsula Hospital.
She will be missed by her husband and friend Ladi, brothers Monty, Guy, family and friends.
