It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Faye Cox, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19th, 2025, at the age of 75.
Sharon was surrounded by her loving family in her final days, including her husband Colin, son Terry, daughter Shona, son-in-law Dean, grandson Tak, and close family friend Stephanie. She was also held in the thoughts and prayers of her daughter in-law Hiroe and Granddaughter Amy; as well as many family and friends who supported her throughout her long health battles.
Her life was filled with many challenges that she faced with continuous support from her loving family and friends. We can not express how thankful we are to all of you that have been there for her.
A memorial service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held in the late Spring/early Summer at Island View Beach Regional Park in Saanichton on Vancouver Island (Date to be announced). We understand that not all of you will be able to attend, we would appreciate having you send in stories to share at her celebration.
We would also like to express our appreciation and thanks to the incredible team of Doctors, nurses and care aides that worked with mom since moving to the Peninsula here on Vancouver Island.
As Mom often said, “This is the Best Place to live.” She enjoyed regular trips with Dad to the Ocean and throughout the countryside.
As many of you are aware her final bucket list item was to take a Helicopter trip over the island and she completed that on January 6th, 2025.
Sharon is now free and will continue to soar and watch over us from above.
Thank you everyone for your heartfelt condolences during this time.
With Gratitude, Shona Lee Cox-Powers
