On Friday March 08, 2024, Sra. Lucy Sofia Gomez Tellez passed away in Victoria in her 97th year. Survived by daughters Pilar Rodriguez Gomez and Lucy Sofia Rodriguez Gomez, son-in-law Thomas Gregory Munson and grand daughters Anastasia Sofia Munson-Rodriguez and Sarah Isabela Munson-Rodriguez, all of Victoria, BC. In her 97th year, in 2023, Sra. Lucy travelled to Colombia to visit with her extended family’ including two surviving sisters in Bogota, Colombia, Gilma and Yolanda, plus many other family members.

She always enjoyed gathering with family and friends over good food and good conversation. She deeply appreciated the natural world, and spent a lot of her life marveling and embracing the beauty of plants and flowers. Furthermore, she studied naturopathic and plant-based medicine. Sra. Lucy was very people oriented; she always prioritized connection with her family and had a career as a children’s teacher and social worker. She was also a highly recognized baker and cook, highly skilled in delicious Colombian cuisine. Also, she studied visual arts in Colombia and Mexico. Sra. Lucy balanced several bodies of knowledge over her life, across many domains, including art, science, sprituality and the natural world. Sra. Lucy was loved by all and will be missed by her family and many friends in Victoria and in Colombia, S.A.
